What are the tricks that your parrot has to learn?

You will fulfill your job when you know how to make your pet parrot safe and healthy. It will be good to teach your parrot how to understand or be familiar with things that can save their lives later. But since you are interested in having a pet bird, you have to know what the talking parrot price is. And these are the things that your parrot has to know.

Step-up command

Your bird parrot has to know a simple step up, and you have to show your finger or hand. Your parrot must be well-conditioned to step in your hand to put the foot in the air. Some parrots are used to this command, and they lift their foot in the air whenever they hear the word step up.

Stick training

After you teach them how to step up, they also have to learn how to step up in handheld perches and sticks. It is helpful for uncertain parrots or those going on the top of the curtain rods.

Your pet parrot has to be familiar with the carrier built for them to be safe. When you have the chance, you can start teaching them to be comfortable on their page while they are young. You can put the carrier within their reach of sight and play with them around it and offer food on top of it. You can try to put your bird inside the carrier with their breakfast or dinner and don’t close the door. You allow them to be comfortable inside the page and teach them not to be afraid. You will be happy when you have to visit the clinic or when there is an emergency that needs medical care.

Show them the mirrors and windows.

Mirrors and windows are dangerous for parrots that can fly. They don’t understand that these are solid materials, but instead, they see them as a free space to fly. Even clipped parrots are also in danger of injuring their neck or beak when they land too hard on the glass door or in the mirror.

You can walk them near the mirror and windows, tap using your fingernail, and tap on their beak. You have to do it many times, so they will get what you like to tell them. They will learn how to be careful.

Make them say their name and phone number.

If you have a pet parrot who talks, teaching them your last name and phone number will not be harmful. Some birds can learn their address by repeating the information all over again. It will help them when they get lost or stolen, and whoever finds them will know whom to call.

However, you don’t have to teach your parrot to memorize the name and number. You can use a small microchip in your bird’s breast, which you will register with the company. But in case there is no microchip, the parrot will tell you the information about its owner.

Show their cage is a safe place.

They have to feel and think their cage is a safe place to stay, eat and sleep. You don’t have to change the cage so that they will be effortlessly comfortable and familiar with it. You can leave toys and perches inside their cage. Also, you can move their toys outside the cage, but you have to try to keep them inside.
